First off, you need to say other than dual mode, sound or no sound. For a non-sound equipped steamer of any kind, any 2 function decoder will suffice. Digitrax DH123 is the one I've used in all my steamers. NCE makes a good one as well, but I don't know the number, as is Lenz.
For sound, I'd use the mini Tsunami from Soundtraxx, which is the same decoder, I believe, that Bachmann uses. I'm not sure if these are dual mode or not.

Dual mode? DC and DCC would be the TCS T1. Invisible on DC. Great on DCC.
