Troller TRA1001

I have a Troller TRA1001 power pack that belongs to a friend of mine.  It quit on him a number of years ago and he gave it to me to fiddle with.

My question is: is a schematic diagram for this unit available anywhere?

As the throttle knob is turned up about 1/4 the voltage out jumps to full voltage, the track voltage light is on and flickering and there is ticking noise from the transformer that is not there when the throttle is off.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  My O-scale friend would love to have this heavy duty unit back in service.

We were given 3 Troller power packs a couple of years ago, and all of them have since wound up in the dumpster.  One was totally imoperable when received and one side of a dual controller was burned out on another.  Even with extensive electrical and electronics engineering and repair experience, I decided that they were not economically salvagable and it would be cheaper in the long run to purchase a new MRC power pack.

A Troller may be ideal for O gauge motors, but their pulse power can overheat and burn up a can motor in HO or N scale locomotives.

 Keep in mind what was mentioned in that linked thread. I recall seeing in MR in the 80's that there definitely was an issue with Troller and UL listings. IIRC, it was bad - like them putting UL labels on devices that were NOT approved and in fact FAILED testing. This was or was part of why they went out of business. It wasn't all models, only certain ones, so don't panic, but it's probably not worth fixing.
