HOW TO MAKE WALTHERS SUPER CHIEF LIGHTING UNITS WORK
Posted by Anonymous on Saturday, December 1, 2007 6:03 PM

HI Everyone

A few months back I wrote asking for help in fitting them and received some helpful replies. After wrting I had an idea and by using sandwich bag tags. They are made of thin flexible wire covered in a thin plasic sheet.

To do this place the lighting unit in positing. Bend the tag to form the letter U and from below push the tag up. It is fiddly so be patient then simply start twisting the tag making sure it is on the coach connection and simply cut off the excess. This will apply pressure to keep the lighing unit and the metal tag built into the coach together. I thoroughly tested by dropping the box on my sofa and rolling the box along the floor with the coach in it of course. PUt it back on the track and it still worked ok.

Hope this is of use to anybody having trouble or will inspire you to fit them as they look great when all 15 coaches light up on a test track.
