Austin,
Maybe these will be more of what you had in mind

Perhaps his comments were in reference to grayfox and accord's comments.

You are 100% correct guy!
As to your night shots yes those are nice! Grayfox and Accord should be chiming in very soon to say yours is out of this world workmanship compared to their comments about that guys. I say give great credit where credit is due but do not lie to someone to give them a false sense of accomplishment. Simple
Real nice. I think my fav is the 6th photo. tks.

Well I think they look just fine Jeff. I especially like that new paint scheme for those road engines. Keep up the good work.
I would like to say more about some of the other comments, but tonight i'll just bite my tongue and let it be. Some of these wanna-be rivet counters are more than a little tough to take.

Clap, Clap... Ok, you win. But whether or not you like the OPs pictures, I believe it is unnecessary to make this a competition and "show up" the OP and hijack the thread. If you need a pat on the back go somewhere else; you don't need to do it here. I hate to be negative on this forum, but I don't believe this is the first time you have felt the need to push on the OP, and it has gotten old...

Aren't we a little sensitive? Jeff's original post asked for others to post similar pictures, so I did. So did Brunton. Are people responding to his request only supposed to post pics of a lesser quality to his so that Jeff's pics won't look bad or be "shown up"? There's no competition being done. That's what you're perceiving. You're the one being negative, or at least viewing everything as being a negative attack. There was no comment trying to make it a competition. Also, please explain how I "hijacked" the thread? Did I hijack the thread because I posted some pics as Jeff requested? How am I "pushing" the OP? Pushing what?
As far as Austin's comment - quite frankly he's correct. He's also entitled to his opinion. He was not being overly critical. He was responding to two other comments about Jeff's pics and simply stating that he disagreed with their opinions. He didn't slam Jeff, he didn't go on a rant about Jeff's work (photo or modeling), he didn't call him names etc., he simply said that he didn't agree with the assessment that his work and craftsmanship was "great."
NYC1, you need to get off you high horse about judging everyone, their posts and seeing everyone as attacking poor, defenseless Jeff because its not happening. Last I was aware of, Jeff's a full grown adult, let him defend himself. If he thought he was being attacked, he knows how to get a hold of me and he would have stated so. Did he? - NO! He posted a reply complimenting me - something you couldn't do without sarcasm.

I am still working on how to get the best night shots with my Nikon camera. Here's a few of my current favorites:
Engineer Jeff NS Nut Visit my layout at: http://www.thebinks.com/trains/
One more. What should I pick?
In response to Jeffrey's request for more night pics I offer the following. I posted it on WPF this weekend before I saw this separate thread for them, so apologies for the duplication.
Cheers.

Sometimes when I take night pics I find that the lighted areas are really bright and everything else is pitch black. To avoid that, and fill in a bit of ambient light, I play a flashlight over selected areas of the scene...when your exposure is long (maybe 4 seconds or more), just a brief splash of light here and there during the exposure can make a big difference..try it and see how you like it. The great thing about digital is that you can experiment over and over for free. I liked your pics.Cheers.
