The difference between Rush and the Hindenberg?

One's a flaming Nazi gasbag,

The other's just a dirigible.

HMMMM I had no idea Limbaugh was a dirigible.....He used to be a big guy, but I thought he lost weight.

The ''Flaming Nazi Gasbag'' remark DID remind me of someone though......John Edwards!

Most of my music is now on hard drives (3500 albums) in .ape format, some from CDs, some from LPs and some (legally) downloaded and streamed through the whole house.

My tastes run run the gammut, except for metal and rap. My collection is about 60% Rock -'50s thru '07, 35% Jazz, 15% Classical. With it all digitized I can listen any way the mood strikes me, or on race day watch/listen to the car races (Go Hendrick!Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]) thru the HTPC.

Listening to: 'Medley: Let the Good Times Roll/A Change Is Gonna Come/Bring It on Home' from 'Raisin' Hell' by 'Elvin Bishop' on JRMC's Media Center 12.

If it is in the day time (I'm retiredApprove [^]) I listen to conservative talk radio, Christian radio,  sports radio or NPR for their classical music (not their news).  At night I have the TV on, if its a ball game, if not whatever is interesting.  Nothing interesting after 8 tonight, so I had a soccer game on.  I didn't really pay much attention to it. Somebody beat somebody else 1-0.  Whoope,Zzz [zzz] I was underwhelmed!  I got started on cleaning up my train room. Big Smile [:D]

I listen to them every once in awhile while I'm studying. Kind of a change of pace style for me, but yet so relaxing. I don't really get to work on the layout or even see it often so I think I'll just maybe throw out some bands/artists I've been listening to lately.

Getting major play on my iPod/computer is Motion City Soundtrack (band out of the Twin Cities, new alternative rock, big with the younger crowd), Gaelic Storm (combo of many walks of life, Irish trad music, love it. I'm a huge fan of the Irish music), Wild Colonial Bhoys (same as Gaelic Storm), Anberlin (see MCS), and then of course my country, Dierks Bentley.

Big range of tastes for me.

Many times I will listen to old-time radio shows from the 40's and 50's (my layout era).  I remember some of them since I'm an early era baby boomer. My layout, my steamers and those shows transport me back to that time! Other times I listen to sports talk radio and especially WFAN out of New York.

Usually, the tv.....see whats on the satellite, find something mildly interesting and then head downstairs, works great for those repetitive tasks and boring jobs , latenight and on the weekends, VH1C Metal Mania is perfect for getting a lot of stuff done, or if thats not on, XM Boneyard does the trick.......and if none of those is particularly interesting,  I dig through the Metal Kollection and find some good, fast head bangin' tunes, gets the heart pumpin' and the brain working, nothin' like laying track with Judas Priest poundin' in the background!

Nothing wrong with Michael Savage, he tells it like it is.I listen to him or listen to my XM radio, sometimes books on CD.Also like the Michael Reagan show.

Sometimes tune in the 40's channel on XM, and listen to stuff like Glenn Miller, goes good with my 40-50's era Pennsy layout.

And in the morning the G-Man!!!!!   G. Gordon Liddy.

Sure do miss Art Bell.

Yah, I always wondered about that "Classic Rock" misnomer myself.  Does that mean Mozart, Haydn or Beethoven with a Stratocaster, LOL?

Dallas--

Actually, that was an improvement on the original Pachelbel, as far as I'm concerned, LOL!  It's actually "Baroque" rock.  The "Classical" era in music was from about 1750 to 1820 or so, and mainly consisted of the composers Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven.  Pachelbel was earlier--back when people wrote music for Noblemen to talk over while they sawed away in the background.  There, now we've all had our Music History Lesson for the day, LOL!

All right -- it's Baroque n' Roll then!   Yeah!! [yeah]

If the race is on and the Hendrick cars aren't cheating their way to a stolen win, I'll have the tv on that.  Otherwise Def Leppard, Evanescence, Metallica, Nickelback, Motley Crue.  You get the picture.

BTW Tomita did his version of Pacific 251, for those who dont know Tomita, he is a Japanese Moog synthesizer artist. Find his stuff, really cool.

I with everybody on here.  Rock, misc music.  The washer and dryer, etc.   Once in awhile the dogs running threw the house, or a good fight between the cats.  Even sometimes I listen to myself talk. They say its good to talk to yourself but not answer yourself.  Whistling [:-^]

What would they have written if they were alive now?  It's an interesting question, when you think about it.  And one we can't answer.

Heck, I know the 'Classic Rock' is pretty much useless tripe, but it's what I grew up with, so I'm stuck with it, I guess!

EDIT:

Way better than Rap, anyway.  Yuck!
