Big boy decals and lettering
Posted by Lillen on Saturday, September 1, 2007 1:48 PM

Hi,

I'm looking for decal and road numbers for Big Boys, I have three that I need to assign numbers. Do anyone know where they can be found and if they exist. It's H0 by the way.

Unless otherwise mentioned it's HO and about the 50's. Magnus

Those are the decals I used to letter my Challenger with. They're very high quality and look great, but they're also some of the most fragile decals I've dealt with, so make sure you're as careful as possible when handling them.

If you want to see some close-ups of all the Challenger with all its decals, here's a link to a topic I posted about it.Big Smile [:D]

Thanks for that link. They turned out great but then you seems to be knowing that what you do. But hey, sometimes have to be the first, why not begin with the most expensive thing I got!  Big Smile [:D]

I must say that I like the Microscale Industries site. I love a web shop that tells me the EXACT price that I will be paying for shipment. This is a huge concern for me since I live so far away. This is probably my biggest gripe with other sites that won't give that info.

Ok, two things, I got hold of an observation car, that feels great, been running the train kind of naked without it.

Second, another question. Which numbers come with those Microscale decals? Because I have a few that will need to be lettered and given numbers. Is it possible to find all the different ones, from 4000 to 4024?

there should be plenty of numbers to make up what you need

I can't make out the roadnumers. Are 4000 to 4024 there?

without piecing together numbers, there a more than enough to create any number you would want,  bb#s 4001, 4016, 4021, 4023 are printed together, but there are plenty of extra 0s and 4s to make the 4000's and 4024's as needed

Great thanks, how many sheets would be necessary to do 25 locos. Just curious?

Each Decal set 87-63 has eight large Union Pacific side lettering for the tender.  Four large locomotives and four of the smaller locomotives can be decaled with each set.     You will be able to decal four Big Boys or Challenger per set with a lot of extra numbers and various lettering than cannot be used..

 Cheers
