Great looking locos, you guys!  Canazar - I really like your background stories!  What brand is that little crawler in the foreground of your last pic?  I've got 3, but I don't know what they are.

Here are my custom worked engines in HO.

This is a pic of one of my Hudson's that converted over to oil burners to run on the KVR.  Coal is a bit scarce in Arizona compared to oil in those days.  The 2  were purchased from New York Central back in the early 40's.  With the war production picking up traffic, Kiva Valley was desperate for power and got lucky enough to find these.  NYC had pulled them from service and were for sale.  They were converted to oil as the KVR had oil on hand for Southern Pacific and Santa Fe.  They both chugged on into the early 60's.  One was rebuilt in 1990 and pulls seasonal trains into Kiva Valley from Phoenix.  Also does a yearly Ski Train to take people up to Flagstaff. The other is still owned by KVR, but is has ben in storage since 1971.

A true work horse that is still going for the KVR.  Originally purchased in 1954 from EMD as the first mainline desiel power.  Still roams the tracks today of the KVR system.  Been through 2 wrecks and 2 overhauls.  Its not going anywhere.  Several good men have started and retired thier careers in that cab.

This engine was the very first desiel locomotive purchased.  Brought to the Valley in 1952.  It has more or less spent its entire career in the yard.  On occasion, it will wander out or be assigned to the Central District for local work.  Not used as much today, but still sees plenty of work.

The family Roster. Also included is the a GE U-30.  It was purchased from Santa Fe in 1981.  At the time, it was ment to replace the SD 7.  But things picked up and the KVR had the SD 7 rebuilt in 1984.  Both are still used for main line runs heading south down to Phoenix and north to Flagstaff

Without a doubt, #103 is my favorite engine.

#110, a rebuilt Cox GP20, is another favorite.

And my 70 tonners hold a special place in my heart, too.

These are all HO scale.

I am all for the Milwaukee Road.

A few of the locomotives at the engine facility. All of the U-boats are Atlas, and the GP38-2 behind the U25B is a Proto 2000.

Something you don't see everyday. This is my Bipolar. It is Overland quality but is made by NWSL. The locomotive runs very well and is in the shop for decals at the moment. My SW7 tugs it along to the shop.

And a little something out of the ordinary. This is my kitbashed Twin Cities & Western GP30C. It started out as an Athearn GP35 and has about two other shells spliced into it. Forming the Catepillar equipped loco.

Enjoy!!

Happy railroadingLaugh [(-D]

Sorry, mine are HO.

Tom, Second Coming, well that's interesting way of putting it.  I thought the LDS only put it that way.  Well, I mean, that is how I say it.

Uh-oh. Now you've started a 20 page thread. Smile [:)] I'll make one contribution.

An Athearn RTR GN&O GP38-2 that I super-detailed. Great running engine but must be one of the last with the crew-frying headlight.

Posted by Alex V. on Friday, August 31, 2007 10:19 PM

Okay, this is a ripoff of Guilford Guy's "Let's see some of your work" threads on the Bach-man message board, but let's all post one pic of each locomotive we have in our roster.  Steam, diesel or electric - any scale.  Please list scale, manufacturer and model.  Now, let the fun begin!  I'll start...

HO Bachmann Spectrum 2-10-0 - Western Overland R.R. #2

HO Bachmann Spectrum 0-6-0T - Western Overland R.R. #1

HO Bachmann Spectrum 3-truck Shay - Western Overland R.R. #4
