Right here in the thread are some of the greastest guys I have met in the railroad modeling community. Willing to help each other out. Granted Jeffery I am not retired nor on a SS yet. But between my meds and paying most of the bills while my gf goes to school I have had to learn inventive ways to do things for my model railroad. Al of you guys have given me great advice and help so again thanks for the support, I am still a mewbie but I am not nearly as green around the gills.

Aw shucks Chip! That was not a sacrifice all, the camera was sitting around collecting dust - I saw a chance to put it to better use. I just "tossed a little pebble into the pond", never thought the ripples would go this far!

Jeff W, either this posting grew real fast or I have just plain missed it. My extra camera is more than like not better that what you have. It all so seems you have one coming that as good as the one I have. 3.2 Meg's will post a darn good looking pic.
On the bigger tri pod, they go for around $25.00 or so. I all so have more E6's than I know what to do with. One has been a pain in my cabosse for some time, it is a PK 2000 in Santa Fe War Bonnet colors. For what ever reason it does not like turns, on my track or K-10 Trains tracks. (LHS).
I am sure some one here could fix it, more than likely one of the brass blocks in the front truck is out of places. But I have never got around to fixing it.
If someone is willing to send Jeff $25.00 or a tri pod they can have the E-6. Contact me for details, I will all so throw in a under coated E-6 body.
Jeff, I wish I could just send you the funds needed, trying to recover from $1000.00 in car repairs and make the house payment.

Some times you meet great people on the internet.
Few years ago I got my self in to a mess. Young black kid came into my Auto Body Repair shop asking for a prices on painting his car. Well I gave him a prices on paint the car, with no body work the car was not there. A few weeks later I was contacted by (friends of kids with cancer) seems Jerry was a 18 year old with brain cancer. They where going to pay for the paint job.
Jerry brought in his car, boy I bite off more than I could chew by my self. Luckly my vendors helped with some parts and Mopar friends from the internet kicked in with cash for parts we had to buy. Plus a few local body shops helped with some labor as well. If I had seen the car when I was asked for a prices it would have been around $6000.00.

What goes around comes around. Chip was the sterling member of this forum who sent me my first diesel. I had been posting that I was going to be limited to a very few steamers, that diesels would have to wait. Then he contacted me off-line to ask me if I would like to have a P2K F2 set that had a minor issue and that his kids were no longer keen to play with. I accepted, and to this day it is one of only two that I have. I treasure that gift, and have told him so privately.
Chip gives up a diesel and gets a camera. I won't go into my own pay it forward, but....
Guys, Chip was just showing some gumpshen and some leadership...and only the most obtuse member here would wonder if Jeff could possibly have been the better for it.

I can't believe someone would actually have a problem with what's transpired here.
I don't see it like that at all. This is just a kind thing that we all can do together for a fellow modeller. I think that if you see it in a light of guilt or competition, you tarnish the genuine compassion of the situation. It missed the point and the real spirit of it when you look at it like that.
Frankly, I'm a little disappointed in myself for not thinking of it on my own, but then, sometimes I'm a bit thick, ya know?
Honestly, I don't care if what I sent is the best or the worst item. To me, it's a gift to me to be able to give to something so worthy. I was actually overjoyed when the DHL guy showed up today to pick up the package!
Getting is awesome, but giving is even better! The giver gets two gifts. The joy of giving and the joy of seeing (or hearing about in this case) the happiness of the person getting.
To be honest, this really ruined it. It would have been more pleasant to have him come on and tell us about how a kind list member sent him a camera without being asked in a public post.
Not that this wasnt a great idea, but why should people have to be asked? Then you make people feel guilty for not doing that, or who cant donate something more impressive than the next guy.
Jeff, it really doesnt matter what you have, as long as you have a passion for the hobby.

Despite all offer of other great equipment , I did drop mine in the mail to him. I told him if he gets the better stuff , pass mine on to someone in need. Apparently by next week he's going to have three cameras and tripods to match. Jeffrey will be ahead of all of us !!
