Found it! no scenery yet, but hey, I just finished laying the track.
overview:
servicing (has GP30) and inbound parts (boxcar) tracks:
open-air storage tracks/shop tracks (basically, not gonna spend on a roundhouse)
There will hopefully be at least some ballast down by next weekend, maybe even tommorow. I also know what parts I need to order from atlas for my other three locos, just gotta wait for the money lol.

Building a protolanced industrial park layout
Well, I just spent $87.23 on a cement plant (looks almost exactly like the Faller kit), a Pikestuff single stall engine house, and 30 Caboose Hobbies Sprung Ground Throws. Then I have a Proto 2000 GP7 in PRR paint coming in the mail in a few days.
I'm hoping to start covering the ceiling tonight with plastic sheeting to reduce dust and keep my tracks clean so I can prepare my layout for the arrival of the GP7. Plus, I still haven't run WRS 1701 on it's home rails yet.
I'm going to work on covering my ceiling with plastic sheet to stop dust falling from the ceiling...as soon as I finish drying off...
I just marched with my fife & drum corp in the Sudbury, MA muster in the rain, in full costume. Picture this type of thing except in the muddy grass with puddles and in the pouring rain... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-EcQuqTfaI My dad took that video, I'm playing with my corp near the end of the video. Fun, huh?
Looks great tyler
I finished my yard...

Welcome DarkTalon!
Tommrow I'm going for a 3 day railfan trip to the Iron Range for a final big bang to end the year. Friday we're going to stay in Superior, check out the yards there. Saturday we'll make out way up to Iron Junction. Sunday we'll get my last few shots I want and then make out way back to Wausau.

Some more tidbits:
My music collection spans 500 years, from classical guitar of the 1500s and 1600s to Three Doors Down, with the majority clustered around the late 1960s through the early 1980s rock.
I got to sit in the cab of Mallard a year ago:
The cab of a Whitcomb 75 tonner:
I also play around with electronics. Here's a guitar tube amp I was working on a while back:
I build model ships. Here is a Sharpie I did for my girlfriend
The cockpit is planked in mahogany, the deck was in the process of being planked with cedar, and the seats are teak
I am currently working on the Norfolk Southern rail ferry John W. Garrett in N scale; it will go on display at the Museum of the Albemarle in Edenton, NC. I also volunteer at the North Carolina Maritime Museum in Beaufort, NC, where I am a Docent for the Repository, which includes artifacts from Blackbeard's flagship. However, most of the work I do for the museum is either maintainance of the museum's model collection or work in the boat shop on restoration or construction of wooden boats.
My girlfriend's last name appears on the side of this hopper:
I believe that I am the only one my age to get a cab ride in a Fairbanks Morse diesel that was, at the time, in revenue service:
My operating system is Linux.

Mine was more the lack of work I have(my car hobby is directly affected by my job in a body shop..both money and motivation wise) and when things at work go bad..It made my hobby horrible....so I decided to can it and go back to something a bit cheaper and accesible at all hours :P

I also nominate Packers#1 as official tour guide.
What's that supposed to mean?
You were just telling Kile about this place, I can just imagine you being the tour guide...
Oh, lol. My bad, didn't get it.
Ah, yes... Sketchy pictures...

I unscrewed the plywood, and removed the track from the module today. I need to get a sheet of Pink Foam now... "And if you look to your left, you will see a rare species of teenagio modelrailroadero..." Maybe someone who actually knows latin could help me out here...
DarkTalon wrote:It's cool to find something like this..I just got back into railroading stuff after the economy killed my car modification habit.... I'm 23, but feel kinda lone in the hobby, so I guess i'll chime in here! :)
Nice to meet you, DarkTalon!
Railfan Alex wrote:Well GG, that is very interesting! I wonder what other railroads did in stations. I wouldn't think they all had crazy contraptions like this!
Yup! I imagine it would be fun to model the B&M in this Era... Hmmm... I think I will!
TrainManTy wrote:Yup, I think it's B&M. Are those the drawbridges by Boston North Station in the background?
Yup!
I think its a small machine for cleaning the snow out of the station tracks, and because they couldn't throw it on people, they had to store it somewhere... in the shells of 2 tenders mounted on a 50ft flatcar frame...
YA, and I have never kitbashed something like this. It is going to take mounths. But This and my 2-6-6-6 are going to be my Stars on my layout. So I will work on it until it is perfect.
I am going to try and model this. I am going to have to some large modifications to the proto 2000 heritage steam collection 2-8-8-2
Here the prototype photo
And this is what I am starting with
Vincent
Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....
2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.
