[8D] My sister gave me an I. O. U. in the trains department, and bought me a sweater instead. Fair enough--it's getting cold here. My brother, however, waited until the last minute to shop--yet still found a heavyweight Observation Car in D*RG livery. That was really cool, as my last one was snatched by my puppy and smacked around with total amusement. Total loss!

A Woodland Scenics Tree Kit and a gift card which will be spent on a new power pack, plus my birthday is January 6th, so I will most likely get something then. Happy New Year

1. Nice chunk of Illinois coal (but no coal porters in N scale) - wanted it! Cool!
2. 1953 Hudson Hornet in Sea Foam Green (1:18)
3. 1953 Buick Skylark convertible in blue (1:18) - part of my 40-50's theme trainroom
4. UP calendar per their Trains ad - (ordered myself)
5. Indigestion from Christmas Eve dinner
6. Clothes shirts, sweater
7. battery powered race car set (Batteries NOT included)
8. Big hit on credit cards to buy other people stuff... could have been some nice
trains there, ummm... Kato F3A/B (N scale), the Yesterday Models N scale cars with Sunflowers, piggy-pears, etc., some more tank cars.
9. Box of candy, bottle of wine, bottle of spirits, small fruitcake stick.

I've given up on hoping for train stuff, just hope that not much $$ is wasted on stuff I don't want such as expensive watches, rings, brewing kits, plastic desktop trains, shirts I don't like.

Quote Charlie Brown " I got a rock!"

Actually the wife, who hates my hobby, got me book of classic steam trains, I was rather surprised!

   Have fun with your trains

I can never complain about any holiday. I (we) are very fortunate to be where we are.
Many others are less fortunate and do not have these luxuries of life. I did get nice
things for the holiday. Had to tend to more important issues this year,so things were
slim for gifts. I did however receive some new people and cars, and a town kit.
Happy Holidays

I got some nice boxcars from the kids and the wife. Plus a promise that i'll be able to spend more time in the basement working on the trains. I don't quite believe that one!

  • You can use code 83/100 transition jointers so they can be used together. Atlas has some.

A few years back the wife and I just decided she would use the money she would have spent on my present, to buy something she really would like, and vice versa. I never could think of a good gift for her and I use to tease her she couldn't afford most of the stuff I really want. So...

This I year I bought/received a generous spree at my LHS, a DVD on the final run of the V&O I'd been wanting for awhile, a digital caliper from Harbor Freight, and a photo CD containing pictures of various Burlington rolling stock right around the merger, which is the time period I am modeling. Not a bad Christmas at all! (as long as you don't count the flu I came down with!)

Sorry that I'm late. I got four back issues of Diesel Era, the book: EMD's SW8 ( also from Diesel Era). An airbrush, ([:)][:)]) an Athearn Husky Stack, the book "Basic Painting and Weathering" (Kalmbach) and some R.R. DVDs.
