Hmph. I bet no one told the machinists in Altoona's Juniata Shops that their H10sa was cute. Because I'm in N scale, everything's twice as "cute." Deep down, though, I know it's a compliment. I'll take "cute!" over that raised eyebrow and pursed-lip look any day!

I get the same thing from my wife. And to add to that, here lately she has been asking me quite a bit when I am going to quit buying so much rolling stock, and concentrate more on layout construction. Has layout construction somehow make it to the "honey do" list?

And this is a problem, how?

It isn't really a problem; just sort of surprising. I really can't complain about it!!! She actually had me see if this was 40% off week at Hobby Lobby, and asked if I needed anything for the layout. Hmmmm, she may be up to something...............
Smitty,
Is your wife's BD coming up anytime soon, or has she been subtly hinting at anything...?

B-day was in February, and the anniversary is in October, so I am stumped. I never put much thought into it until now, but this could get interesting. Maybe the timing is good to go for an Overland "Texas Special" passenger set.
Oh, Dave, that's just so cute if your were closer I'd reach out and pinch your cheeks just like grandma did. NOT
I do have N scale trains as well as my HO and I have to admit myself, they are cute! Well, at least certain ones. My 4-4-o Jupiter is so cute.... my yard shed is so small its cute...but my 2-8-8-2 is not it's "handsome" and "rugged". The populations are cute...if you can see them...lol
I'm hoping some nice Santa will get us a Z scale set so I can run my old O/O27; HO; my old N and then a Z around my table top tree!!!!
Now THAT would be 'cute'!!
....She could say 'put those trains away and quite wasting your time and money'.....!!!

Just my thoughts, ideas, opinions and experiences. Others may vary.
HO and N Scale.
After long and careful thought, they have convinced me. I have come to the conclusion that they are right. The aliens did it.

sorry. i got "the talk" last night.
anyway.. layout wise i would probably say:
...that one car that you can watch all day but as soon as you turn your head it spontaneously decouples from the rest of the train. usually this is followed a few moments later with a loud "smack" as the loco -now moving at roughly a jillion scale MPH- crashes into the stationary back half of said train.
