rxanandI live in Teaneck in the north east corner of the state. I have been a modeller for a long time. I started out in Marklin but have switched over to American outline. I started work about a year ago on a new layout. Photos of this and previous layouts are on my web site. One of these days, I'll get around to writing about my new layout. My interests are in exploring computer control of trains using JMRI.

Now they should make good use of the Teaneck Armory and put a model railroad in there by golly.
It's been a few years for this thread... I think it needs a bump.
Any "NEW" New Jersey modelers out there. Since I last posted on this thread I have moved to Bernardsville NJ. I started building a 14x16' HO/HOn3 layout. It is 90% handlaid track, the rest is hidden trackage (code70 Flex). I haven't got to the scenery part of the layout, but the bench work is complete. And about 60% ofthe handlaid track is down. I built all Fastracks turnouts from their jigs and also on their paper printouts available. It is the 1st time handlaying and I'm loving it. I've been gradually working on craftsman kit buildings when I get the bug to. I am slowly building up my narrow gauge fleet...very slowly.
Hope to hear from anyone new or old,

Keep the axels greased and the tender full, we're rollin' now.

Ron--I procrastinated and didn't chime in on the original thread and you'd left Warren Hardware when Kristen gave me your contact info--so I missed you, too.
I'm in Summit freelancing a PA shortline in a 9x14 "L." I returned to the hobby in 2006 after 50 years and am having a ball. Currently painting and ballasting track and starting rockwork and scenery--the latter in the planning stages as I learn and refine my technique. I'm encouraged to see so many NJ modelers; thanks for resurrecting this thread.
I admire and follow your work and would be interested in meeting over a cup of coffee. If that makes sense to you, contact me back channel and we can set something up.

myowngod...for some reason we are unofficially 2 states, North and South Jersey ) and I'm a member of a Model railroad club in North Jersey where I live, Somerset County.
I taught a U.S. history class where I asked students to identify East Jersey and West Jersey on a map. Way back in the late 1600s, they were two separate colonies.
Was I being a mean professor?
West Jersey was the Delaware River, from Highpoint to the bay, and East Jersey is the beach from Sandyhook to Cape May...right?
Hi,
Do any of you people posting here know of a guy named Robert Kelly?
He was a member of the historical group in Philipsburg NJ.
I knew him from the 1990 and 1993 NMRA conventions .
