Got the battery charged on the camera so here we go;

The yard is from left to right; main(there will be a station adjascent), 2-arrival/departure tracks, 3- classification tracks, caboose track, Speedway to other end of yard, far end is engine servicing, a few industries and a 2 track frieght depot. The foreground, where the switcher sits is the yard lead with the main to the left.

As you can see the yard is getting a bit overloaded so I must get back to work and build a train.

Thanks Chris! I have one other Atlas unit, a Fox River Valley SD24 ( I still need to patch it WC ) and it runs like a dream! I havent run it much but on a 2 foot long test track, but it definately looks promising! Will be looking forward to those shots. Im not a huge CN fan (go figure) but I did just make a CN cab from Details West, for some engine in the future.

Ray, that's really nice work blending the foreground and background with the farm.  I had to click the photo to get the big view to tell where one ended and the other began.

This is one of the P2K 40-foot Mather box car "time-saver" kits that was in last month's Walthers flyer.

It wasn't on sale, but seemed like a reasonable thing to try at $16.98.  The kit is reasonably simple.  There are a few very small parts for the end-details.  I found that the pre-drilled mounting holes for these were all too small, and they didn't mount easily.  If you get one, note that the shaft for the top-mounted brake wheel is in the envelope with the trucks, so be careful when you open it.  All the grab-ons were pre-mounted.

And for those whose fanatical devotion to detail demands horn-hooks, they put those in the package, too.

It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.

No current layout at the moment, but I did just add on to my WC fleet with a WC HO GP40 from Atlas. Heres a shot of about half my WC fleet, hoping to add on more this summer.

I would like to see the rest of your photos of your fleet. Looks great. Good choice for the Atlas GP40. I have one of those. Very good locomotives.

Nice work everyone! This weekend finaly wraps up my first custom locomotives. I started them about 6 weeks ago. Both are Kato SD45's. I made plenty of mistakes along the way, but managed to fix most of them. -though i still need to raise the plows. Once I get decoders, I will install lamps in the nose.

I also completed a P2K hopper kit, and decided to weather it.

Have a great weekend!

The yard from far turnout to the end of the yard lead measures 10 feet long by 24 inches main over to engine service.

Thanks for the compliment, I had the pleasure(stress) of running the yard while my 10 year old daughter and one of her friends ran two trains. Whew, I think I need to go back and reduce the max current a bit.

Wow! Those two Kato SD45 look great! I firmly believe Kato makes some of the best truck frames around.

Haha! Suprisingly enough, the tree bark, when properly matched, glued onto foam, shaped, painted, and put into place, it doesn't look half bad. Good looking stuff. My past couple of weekends and weeks have had almost nothing to do with Model RR'ing. My Gpa just got out of the hospital at the end of last week, and I got a bug of sorts over this weekend, so the trains have been setting in the shed for a while (man cleaning all that track again is gonna suck). Oldest layout still doesn't look right with the new Faller grass put down, so I'm armed with three diff. shades of ground foam (need some glue though) and its time for try #3 on making Bald Mt look right. The new 4 by 8 project isn't going anywhere after my dad had a change of mind and wants to use my old benchwork for this one, so the current will be scrapped and used for a small layout for my niece. I did have the foam, trackplan, and some cork roadbed down on the first attempt, but for now, everythings at a standstill yet again... (Sigh)

Thanks for the comments on my models everyone!

Hey Jeffrey, when can we see some more YouTube vids of your layout?

Does anyone else have YouTube vids of their layout?
