check out this site http://thortrains.net You'll be ababile to find some information there (including some track plans).
Also, the N.M.R.A. (National Model Railroad Association) has a website at www.nmra.org that has a lot of information, including a special section for beginners.

thanks gary for the help. my friends says he goes to that one every year and another one at century college to. i could ask to go with but i don't know.

my friend told me that there is a show in Woodbury next weekend. he said its at the high school. i'll try and get to that. don't know though.
