Had the pleasure of riding behind this one in my youth, 'round about the time this photo was taken.  Available in brass on rare occasions, and one of these days I'll make the wish come true.

P2K does make one.....All you have to do is add sound and ditchlights.

I've got a couple.  I'm an N scaler, so I would like to see an updated DCC-friendly Alco S-series switcher (or a little of all of them.. S-2,4 and 6 would be nice.  Atlas has the drawings in HO, and has dipped their toes into N scale switcherdom with their VO-1000, so let's keep our fingers crossed.

I'd also like to see Atlas jump into the SD-40/40-2 market.  Kato takes forever to release a small batch, and usually only in UP or BNSF or their respective predecessors.  I need undecs, and straight 40's in WM, either black or circus.

Oh, and more 70 ton hoppers, please!!

A Union Pacific 9000, not brass. I e-mailed BLI and they have plans for one. They said maybe in 2-3 years.

YAY!

How about a non-brass B&O EM-1?

For a dream locomotive model I'd pick a 2-10-4 Texas type used by Bessemer & Lake Erie in brass or plastic (if well done with correct cab roof hatches).  I think it was done in brass about 25 years ago, but I can't remember the manufacturer.  The Proto-2000 2-10-2 that came out earlier this year was an excellent representation of the last 5 2-10-2's the B&LE bought, and that type of quality would be wonderful on a model of the 2-10-4's.

You are missing two runs of these. There was some runs in the 1960s and 1970s, built entirely by KUMATA, but according to the BROWN BOOK it has been also imported by KEY - probably around 1990 and probably built by SAMHONGSA, and the nicest run was around 1995 from CIL/ SAMHONGSA.

There are cheap AKANE models of the EM-1. Have seen them for below 500$.

Why don't you want the T-3a in brass? These, too, are cheap these days - and they are FINE models! Run very well, and solidly built. I have one and am very satisfied. A few details I add myself.

My favourite locomotive model I could dream of would be a SLSF 4-6-4 class steamer. Nobody produced a model of it up to date.

Unfortunately, these AKANE models are not up to snuff by today's standards - either in running or in detail.

I'll second wm3798's motion for an Alco S-series switcher in N--preferably an S-3.  The old Arnold S-2 looks great but is a terrible runner.

My other dream model is a Baldwin DRS44-1000 also in N--I'd settle for a shell kit to mount on a commercial chassis.

A lightweight Broadway Limited set, by BLI of course, their passenger cars are indescribably cool.

complete with an R1 or P5M, but for locomotives, any electric would make my day.

Of course I heard Walthers is making them that post was put up almost a year ago before anyone knew. Infact I knew they were going to make them before most people. I have little birdies that tell me things. Infact I use to go in there and tell the workers jee I wish you would mak the Hiawatha cars in plastic brass is too much.

Thats an easy question or is it. #1. A 3 unit Union Pacific 8500 hp GE turbine w dcc and sound of course brass is good and plastic would be better. #2. A new DD40X or DD35 with dcc and sound. MY #3 and #4 are both in pre production UP's M10000 and NYC's Streamlined Hudsons

As you said the Akane models are CHEAP!  You can get the Akanes below $500 but not after you add a good DCC decoder/sound unit plus adding all the needed detail to make it closer to the real thing and they don't run well.  As for the T-3a's that are available they are nice but it is my dream models and want one with sound and DCC already included.  I will probably end up buying a brass T-3a but I've seen them sell very high too.

Heck my dream model would be any steam from the B&O not in brass.  Come on how many different manufacturers have to make a Big Boy?  *LOL*   (Sorry UP fans! *S*)

Hi green elite cab:

To reply to your last post, yeah Con Cor made the N - U50.

I've picked up 2 Bi-Polars in the past. Of course they run like crap (or coffee grinders as they say) But they look decent. One streamlined version and one regular EP2. Both from NJ International Brass. Also I have three Little Joes, 1 by Alco Models, 2 by NWSL. They run pretty ruff also, though they are known for that.

It would be nice to finally see an up to date model of both of these. Let's face it, the Heavy Electric market has been largely ignored all along. We've seen enough new "F-units" from all the manufacturers and remakes of all other previous models. Let's get the manufactures to make some of these other fine, popular and unusual models of the past.

Guess I'll have to stick to my beloved Southern Pacific models till then.

Still I'd like to see The U50 versions out in HO along with ALL versions of the Turbines. Lionel started a good thing, too bad it didn't last.

     Steam618lover1

I have about 4 sweet steam engines that are great and would love to get my hands on the throttle, the first is the N&W's 611, its one of a kind and fast, the second one are the berkshires, i've been aboard the 765, now that she's been rebuilt, i here that she has quite abit of horsepower now, there is one berk i would like to own but i'm not sure that they do exist today and those are berks with the coffin feedwater heaters, the third are the northerns, the 844 is one sweet engine and good looking, and is one of the heavyest 4-8-4 running today, and finally the N&W's 1218, even tho she is not running today, they where noted for there whistles, very unusual they where realy one of a kind, i have all these engines in my collection except the 1218 which will be here in nov, they don't have sound but to watch them on my layout pull freight or pass makes you want to jump inside the the loco, and head down the mainline. wish list can come true all you have to do is work at it alittle, good luck with all your DREAMS.                               Earl

Mine has been unchanged since about 1956.  HO scale Norfolk and Western Class J.  My first engine was a brass J, which I still have.  I have a few more now.  I still need one of the first generation ones.  Before I am done I may have more than the N&W did.Big Smile [:D]
