I've been an avid model railroader for what seems like my whole life.  It helps that I had a father that worked on the railroad and was a model railroader as well. 

I am currently in the process of building my "first" large layout and it will occupy most of a 27' x 43' basement and will be double decked.  I am modeling the transition era as I love steam power.  It really seems like it is a living breathing giant and I just find that so fascinating.

I have some great friends helping on building the layout and hope to hold our first mini ops session in the near future.  I want to start running trains soon so it will keep me motivated to keep expanding the layout.
