Kato missed the boat on this one - you hit my favourite rant. Kato made fluted sided passenger cars with just about all of them except for Via (Canadian) in N scale. The cars on the Canadian are the exact same ones as they made for CP, but they didn't issue them. All they needed to do was instead of paint for CP, instead paint for Via - Canadian.

The Canadian has been around for 25 years and it looks like it will be around for a long time to come, and I know that Canadians and some non-Canadians would like to run the Canadian. So my vote goes for N scale Canadian cars.

Also, I think the hobby is ignoring the commuter, light rail stuff. Now Athearn just came out with equipment for the West Coast Express in N, the Sounder etc and I think this is a niche manufactures should be getting into as youngsters just aren't into steam like us older guys. The kids want to get what they see and ride on - I'm curious how Athearn will do with their contemporary commuter trains, etc.
