Kato`s new SD90/43MAC
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, May 18, 2003 8:02 PM
I am very new to this hobby and I need some help. I want to buy Kato`s new SD90/43 MAC to head my new freight train. But I want to stack at least two of these locomotives for realisim. Does Kato or any body sell dummies with simular detail? Or should I buy two and somehow unplug the lights on the second loco. thanks. ps. this is HO train.

In the real RR world, railroads run multi-powered units so therefore so do some modelers.

Kato does not make dummy units and should you buy two powered locos there's nothing out of place
by having the working lights in both.

You should make sure that you have the proper
radius curve to support these babies.

www.katousa.com and click on SD 90. They recommend 22" radius curve.

This 21 oz loco, 11" long was also reviewed in MR Sept 02 and can easily handle 60 cars.
It takes several hours to add the 20 superbly detailed pieces and can be easily damaged during the install.

I paid $113.00 including shipping from www.traintrack.net of Oakland Maine.

Happy railroading.
