Season's Greetings, Everyone...

I'm curious: how many of you in this forum are NOT modelling North American railroads?

After 45 years, I "burned out" and switched to Swiss and French railroads. Okay, so we're a minority...but so what? It's still a great hobby!

I model BNSF as my prime layout but have a small portable lay out based on German prototype that I am construting.
I am using Marklin digital equipment on C type track. US modlers modeling over sea prototypes are in the minority in this country but Europeian modelers modeling US prototypes are most like just as rare.

A minority, yes, but you'd be surprised at the large number of modellers in Europe who model North American railroads...

In October, I attended the biennial convention of ARiS, the American Railroadfans in Switzerland. We had modellers from nine Eurocountries there, filling up four school buildings in Adliswil with modular pikes. The total count of folks attending a two-day weekend convention was about 3,400...

I had the honor of being the sole American guest speaker. What an experience..!

Hello swissmdlr,

If Britain counts, one of these years I'd like to construct an OO layout. I have a Class 2P 4-4-0 waiting in the wings. An LMS Black Five would round things out nicely for a fictional LMS branch line.

So, the interest is there. . .

Oh yes, I include Britain, although some of the stuffier minds in Old Blighty might take umbrage at that...VBG...

Of the pre-Nationalization Big Four, the LMS has always been a favorite. The 2P, in its blue Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway, remains one of my favorite British locomotives.
