Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, October 9, 2002 5:21 PM
Does anyone know where I can get HO construction
equipment kits? I basically need a front end loader
that was produced in the 1950's. If not can anyone
suggest a way to kitbash something that would serve
my needs? Thanks for any help-Bob

tonka trucks would be pretty close for some of those huge strip mining dump trucks -- the kind where the driver has to walk up sort of a fire escape just to get to the cab.

Some more places to by 187th consturction equipment and trucks:
www.toyline.com/bri
www.toysforcollectors.com
and one in Irving, TX www.zrycon.com; not sure this is correct. I by cranes and heavy duty trucks

I have found HO (or HO compatable) construction equipment in several places. The toy isle in the market (you might also try Kmart, walmart, etc.) yields a supriseing amount of items (some very good, a lot not worth taking home); the equipment dealers parts departments (i.e. John Deere, Cat, Case, etc.) carry scale versions of the real thing.
