Good morning

Sorry I've been a bit scarce from our Railroad Club here lately, I'd caught a wicked bug and have been some sorta 'Coach Slouch', flat on the sofa for over a week, not feeling like doing much of anything.  I've finally been on the upswing the last couple days though.

Enough about my little ailments, We're still pulling for you over here Ed.  It is my understanding you started your treatments on the 28th.  I'm hopeful that is going as well as can be expected, and of course, wishing for the best possible results for youSmile

I'd like to thank everyone again for all the good Will advise a while ago.  It's not like one has any kind of experience with this sort of endeavor, when such a situation needs to be looked into one day.  It was helpful and appreciated here.  It's a good thing my Judy is pushing to get this done, as I'm typically a bit too passive about important stuff like that.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRENT!!!  Hope you had a great one!

Have a good Hump Day gentlemenSmile

Good morning, everyone.  Bacon, eggs, and coffee, Brunhilda.

It's not a pleasant task coming up -- taxes. No  I do them early, and if I get a refund I file right away, and if I owe something I wait until April to submit.  Either way, I don't like it.  My state also has an income tax, so it seems like double upset.

I think some time working on the layout will get my mind off the taxes.

Have a a great day, everyone.

Good afternoon from a really wet Pacific Rim where it is 14c. The Pineapple Express from Hawaii, is warm and wet.

Went to big town, back to the tailor, and they took one look at my suit and custom shirt and said we will make you a new one.Laugh Someone screwed up somewhere. I should have it in three weeks.

My wife has a Dyson stick vacuum that she uses in the kitchen/family room to keep up with the hair from our six Golden Retrievers. She dropped it and the handle broke and Dyson wanted $65.00 for a new part. Timing is everything, my wife watches the two local auction houses and they had several skids of Dyson vacuums up for bid. She got a brand new $800.00 Dyson stick vacuum for $40.00. We picked it up on the way home.

Thank you all for the Birthday wishes, loved the bagpipes. I turned 67 and while I was getting remeasured for my suit today the guy said you are in good shape how old are you, I said 67 but my Garmin says my fitness age level is 43. He said wow you look good. That always helps to make an old guy's day.Laugh My wife looked up from her phone when he said that and smirked knowing full well I would be gloating for the rest of the day. PirateLaugh

I don't mind the taxes I pay, the quality of life here is so good and I am well aware of all the services the Government provides. I will admit some of the things they do are not done in the most cost-effective way, however, that is just the cost of doing business in those areas.

Rainy days are boring.

All the best to all.

Hey Brent!

I think you might appreciate this......

Next Monday I will be getting Cataract Surgery in my left eye (the one that had the retina tear).  Very common side effect of the retina probem is that cataracts often get much worse because of that, I guess.

So yesterday I get the pre-op call to set up all the odds and ends involved.  One item was the woman asked me whether I need a Wheelchair, crutches, or just a cane to get to the room.  I said "ma'am I don't think I will need any of those options."  She informed me that I am 77 and most people getting the surgery need help getting around.

I informed her that I run at the college fieldhouse three days a week and usually put in over 3 miles each time.  I also mentioned that one of the people I run with over there is Dr. B........ who is 90, and I am, if I push myself, actually able to lap him a couple times!  She went nuts!!!  "Oh, I know him!  I just adore that man!  He is amazing!!"  She didn't try to get me to use a wheelchair after that. LOL!

Thanks so much, TF! Yes, I started Monday and I've been arriving at the facility at 7am so I'm back home in no time. It is about a 25 minute drive each way so not bad.

No real side effects and hopefully none foreseen. The staff is very friendly and I enjoy seeing them every morning. Only thirty-one more visits left Whistling

Happy belated to you, Brent!

All shiny and new!
