With nothing better to do on this rainy afternoon, I thought it would be nice to complete the control panel. As the two sheets of acetate glazing were a little wobbly, I bought a cut to size piece of 4mm plywood to be attached behind the glazing. I still have 4mm plywood on stock, I was just too lazy to get the circular saw and cut it and vacuum the whole place afterwards. It cost me a whopping 23 cents!

I then went over to my friend Lothar´s to use his drill press to drill the necessary holes and openings for the parts to be added.

The little push button switch will actuate a sound device with that typical Swiss engine whistle a friend of mine recorded on a RhB Ge 4/4 II some time ago. That´ll be fun - and Petra will certainly not be pleased, but I am going to love it [:-^]

Installing it will be a mess - I have to cut a rectangular opening into the frame of the benchwork and I am sure Petra will neither appreciate the noise the jig saw will make nor the dust all over the place. It won´t happen soon, maybe some time between Christmas and New Year, but that day the wiring will also be finished.
