Good Morning Folks!

Yes, I am back!

I needed a break from just about everything to set my mind at ease and try to sort out quite a few things to give Petra and me a new direction for our lives. While the former worked quite well, the latter ended as a futile attempt. Although the overall situation is not suited to settle into, I have to accept the fact that my hands are tied and there is nothing I could possibly do other than try to stick it out.

Que sera, sera
Whatever will be, will be
The future's not ours to see
Que sera, sera
What will be, will be!

Yes, I have resigned.

I did not only brood over the bad times we are in, but also wo*ked in my layout a little. I installed the cork roadbed, laid the track and ballasted it. For ballasting, I used the proven but rather bad method of diluted white glue applied with a hypodermic needle fastened to a bottle , which resulted in a surge of the noise level. Took a lot of tweaking to cut down on it again, and also to solve some conductivity issues. Bemo track is made by Shinohara and I don´t think it is up to today´s standard. It´s a freebie, so I have to live with it.

Here is a short video showing the layout as it is today:

Galaxy - I am sorry to hear about the trouble you have with that house purchase. Somehow, there is a bad taste (or smell) to the whole deal, also considering the other circumstances you have mentioned. Maybe it´s better to step back and sort things anew?

Ken - I don´t want to appear patronizing, but if you really want to quit on the coffin nails, then just do it. I know you can do it - I did it 12 weeks ago! Yes, your eyes are not betraying you - I gave up smoking only 3 months ago! I was stupid enough to continue smoking even with all the health issue I have been going through. 3 months ago my doc told me if I don´s stop right now, I won´t live to see the new year. Guess what I did! I am feeling much better in just about any respect now! Petra still continues smoking, which is a tremendous problem for me. How to tell her that she stinks like hell to me now?

I´ll keep pulling for you, pal!

Good to see some new faces here - a big welcome!

Have a great November 1st - I will, it´s a sunny day!
