For Only $1,999...
Posted by Shock Control on Saturday, March 31, 2018 4:40 PM

...you can own the ubiquitous Tyco/Mantua floodlight maintenance car - the very one previously owned by Lucy and Desi:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/TYCO-HO-Operating-Floodlight-Car-347-PRR-Maintenance-Car-Swivels-Box/372245918749?hash=item56ab95f41d:g:80YAAOSw1NdahjjN

Or, you could just find an identical one for under ten bucks.

By the time Tyco used that logo (1972) and packaging Lucy and Desi were no longer married.  And nowhere is it directly claimed that they, or one of them, owned this item - just that their daughter had used this eBay seller to sell some of their stuff.

Hmm.

As far as I'm concerned they got some 'splainin to do.

No, it doesn't say that anywhere.

I see.  So they are charging $2,000 just for a ubiquitous car.  Makes perfect sense.

The Lucy and Desi angle is certainly implied, and I suspect it feeds into the price.

I've got the high bid, by the way.

I don't get it.  What implications am I missing?  I see the seller has some Lucy junk items but also has some rolling stones stuff too.

No, it is not a ubiquitous car; it is a floodlight car.

In any case, at least they are not trying to rip anyone off for the shipping.

It's likely a Tyco typo and should have said $19.99 ...

Still high though.

Totally agree with Maxman, NO where does it say it was owned by Lucy and Ricky.

Just a testimonial, supposedly from Lucy, about how great Connectibles (the seller) is for selling/auctioning items.

Thanks.  I won the auction.  I figure it was worth $2,000 to have the car owned by Lucy and Desi.

Considering the fact that they have another listing for that same car at $19.99, there is a good chance the listing is a mistake or a glitch......

So did I get a good deal for this car?  It's pretty rare, right?  Plus, I got Lucy's and Desi's car, right?  Only $1,999?

Are you referring to the celibate who posted the ebay auction?

I think you're right, Sheldon. A decimal point typo can be pretty easy to miss.

This morning the listing is ended "due to an error in the listing"........

Since I went to look at the item before reading any replies - that was EXACTLY my first though.
