Now, I know that this is the time of the month that MR drops through the door for an edition in two months time, and it should be 2017, but.....
So when the mail arrived this morning and the cover date on the magazine was February 2016, I did a double-take!
Its a bit early for April 1st....
However, with #998 and counting in the top left corner, I knew it was the 2017 edition!

You are a lucky guy to get February already, the teaser video isn't even out.
Anyway there is nothing new under the sun http://cs.trains.com/mrr/f/88/t/259989.aspx

I noticed that typo on MR's Facebook posting a week or so ago. Passed it off as just an early screenshot and it would be the correct date when released.
I guess I was wrong. Will this make it a collector's edition?

Humm?
Might become quite collectable

Nah, people collect stamps, not Model Railroader magazines.

Just be glad you don't have to press "2" for English.

Not as bad as Newsweeks faux pas
Newsweek wasn't a mistake. Many publications prepare alternate covers in advance when the results of an event are unknown (Super Bowl, etc.)

Ah, February 2016's issue - a month so nice they've issued it twice.

Interesting. The cover on the digital edition reads 2017
