About 9/10 of my layout is under construction at this point. Here's where I'm focusing at the moment:
Show me a coal train.
GP-9-Man,
This picture and others of your layout make me envious of it's size and design until I think of all the track weathering and ballasting involved.
Pictures of the 1/10th. you have posted are very impressive.
If you expect to complete it you better be a young man.
Lets continue with the request for a coal train.

Thanks for the kind words. Thankfully, I'm only 30, so I've got time. Anway, here's some Coltrane while we wait for that coal train.
Well, Coltrain is OK but at 85 the following is more my speed.

Well I can do that... lots of areas under construction on the SLOW. This is a fill resulting in a Girder Bridge over what will be a road. Bridge and piers are all scratch built except for the bridge shoes. Working on the dirt road tonight.
Show me something you have been building for your layout.
This whole area around the little town of Carolton..
Show me something else you have been building on your layout.
I am working on a 70' pulpwood car for Boothbay Railway Village. The car is a Northeastern Scale wood kit. The car was built and painted by another museum volunteer; I have added decals and weathering, and will be adding a pulpwood load from sticks and twigs I collected from around my house.
The car weighs 0.8 oz. and NMRA recommends 5.8 oz. for this length. I made up 2 load cores from scrap wood, and rolled up some sheet lead to fill one of the holes. When I start adding the load (today hopefully) I can add additional lead, if necessary. Shown here, I am test fitting the cores which need a bit of trimming to fit better.
August is almost over, can we make this a 4 page Show Me by tomorrow??
