NYC #53 is a PK1 model. I removed the original 'silver metal-flake' paint and applied some metallic silver and Dulcote.
The striping is from Microscale and a little white, red and black paint.
How about something else 'self-propelled'?

Here is something self-propelled that isn't a doodlebug or RDC: A coke ram, the yellow machine in the lower right corner. It rides on rails spaced 20ft apart, and has an apparatus for opening the coke oven door, and then shoving the hot coke out of the oven into a waiting "quench" car.
The second photo shows a closeup of the machine, the rusty "Y" shaped thing is what pushes out the coke,

The rails are painted Floquil "Rail Brown." It came from a jar, which Walthers is sold out of and therefore is nolonger carrying. Show me a winter scene.
