andrechapelon Motley According to "Doc", we have entered an alternate time divergant. Our earth has in fact, been destroyed. But we are now in another world and the date is: Nov. 5th 1955. Oh goody. Now I can go up to San Jose and watch steam powered commute trains. Or down to Bakersfiield to watch the San Joaquin Daylight swap GS-4's for F7's (or the other way around depending on the time). The Friant Branch is still using 2-6-0's.

....and the dollar is much more valuable and we are still on the gold standard.

Yesssssss! And this time around, I am NOT going to sell my huge collection of Lionels. Or the original boxes.
Instead, I will finance my HO layout by betting on the Jets to win the Superbowl in 1969.
It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.
I thought I had it figured out - there are no Mayans in the Alfred E. Neumann universe.
Then I checked, and discovered that the Neil Armstrong universe (aka reality) is still here.
So the odometer rolled over. Can we put the Mayans out of our minds for the next 300+ (or 5000+) years?

I'm not clear on the Myan end of the World. Are we safe by now or does the world end at 12 midnight?
UPinCT I'm not clear on the Myan end of the World. Are we safe by now or does the world end at 12 midnight?
12 midnight is technically December 22, 2012, so we lived through it.
phew I was on pins and needles for a while. It must have been those guys in the Jello commercials who went and sacrificed pudding on the Myan temple who saved us.

I cannot believe this.
December 21, 2012 came and went, and we are all still here.
What went wrong?
I had sold off my layout and donated the proceeds to the Mayan Relief Fund.
Well, at least I think I did.
Yesterday, two little Russian ladies in babushkas approached me in the grocery store parking lot and said that they were acting as couriers to take cash to the Mayans so I entrusted all of my money to them.
So, I need to start over, and I have several questions:
1. Which is better, DC or DCC?
2. Who makes the best steam engine?
3. Should my track work be continuous loop or point-to-point?
4. Why did they paint steam engines black?
I need answers and I need them now.
