...

So, I need to start over, and I have several questions:

1.   Which is better, DC or DCC?   Laugh

2.   Who makes the best steam engine?   Whistling

3.  Should my track work be continuous loop or point-to-point?   Geeked

4.  Why did they paint steam engines black?   Smile, Wink & Grin

I need answers and I need them now.   Alien

Rich

1.  Neither one.  Use AC with sequence reverse.

2.  Lobaugh

3.  Point to loop is best.

4.  The red was used up on cabooses.

 Laugh

If you're having fun, you're doing it the right way.

If you want, we can put a GE Cab on a Cab Forward & really Sci Fi it out!

Hey Rich!!!?

1:  Do both (in a section), with a switch so you can enjoy all your New & Old products!

2:  Iron Horse Models for Precision Scale Co.  (At least in HOn3 Shays)

3:  Yes, all that

4:  All the Red got used up on Barns, the White on Houses, plus Black (then) covers rust better than any color.

More questions Please!
Yes I am being facetious, but we enjoy that..

I cannot believe this.

December 21, 2012 came and went, and we are all still here.

What went wrong?

I had sold off my layout and donated the proceeds to the Mayan Relief Fund.

Well, at least I think I did.

Yesterday, two little Russian ladies in babushkas approached me in the grocery store parking lot and said that they were acting as couriers to take cash to the Mayans so I entrusted all of my money to them.

So, I need to start over, and I have several questions:

1.   Which is better, DC or DCC?   Laugh

2.   Who makes the best steam engine?   Whistling

phew I was on pins and needles for a while.  It must have been those guys in the Jello commercials who went and sacrificed pudding on the Myan temple who saved us.

I'm not clear on the Myan end of the World.  Are we safe by now or does the world end at 12 midnight?

12 midnight is technically December 22, 2012, so we lived through it.

I thought I had it figured out - there are no Mayans in the Alfred E. Neumann universe.

Then I checked, and discovered that the Neil Armstrong universe (aka reality) is still here.

So the odometer rolled over.  Can we put the Mayans out of our minds for the next 300+ (or 5000+) years?

According to "Doc", we have entered an alternate time divergant.

Our earth has in fact,  been destroyed.

But we are now in another world and the date is: Nov. 5th 1955.

Yesssssss!  And this time around, I am NOT going to sell my huge collection of Lionels.  Or the original boxes.

Instead, I will finance my HO layout by betting on the Jets to win the Superbowl in 1969.

Oh goody. Now I can go up to San Jose and watch steam powered commute trains. Or down to Bakersfiield to watch the San Joaquin Daylight swap GS-4's for F7's (or the other way around depending on the time).

The Friant Branch is still using 2-6-0's.

Not only that, but gas is now 29 cents per gallon!!!!!!!!!!

....and the dollar is much more valuable and we are still on the gold standard.

MisterBeasley

It is now obvious that the Mayans preferred continuous running over point-to-point.

Actually, they never got beyond the oval because none of them ever figured out how to wire a reverse loop.

And, apparently, they never figured out DCC (Doomsday Calendar Control), either.

I woke up this morning and looked out the window.  The world was gone.  There was nothing outside but blinding white light...

Then, I woke up a bit more and realized that I'm at a ski area, and it's snowing.

My working for a living- life is ending today.  I walk out the door here today and that will be it, I have retired!  Maybe the Maya knew this was happening and that's what the Mayan Calendar was all about!  How nice of them!

Happy Retirement and welcome to the club!

What's the plan beyond today?

Rich

No big plans, going to a beer joint to have a few with working buds, tonight, then get intensly into the hobby over the winter.  Taking a tour of Austria, next spring with side trips to Venice and Budapest.

Good morning, fellow modelers.

Well, this is it.  According to the countdown timer, there are just over 35 minutes to the end.

http://www.timeanddate.com/countdown/to?day=21&month=12&year=2012&hour=11&min=11&sec=11&p0=0

I ran my trains last night for the last time.  The Woodland Scenics Realistic Water pour still has not completely cleared.  Now, it never will.

Nice knowing ya !
