I've got two of them, a Maine Coon cat named Spooky and a Norwegian Forest Cat named Uff-Dah. Neither of them come out to the garage when I'm working on the MR, not because I wouldn't allow it, but because, according to them, it's a whole other 'world' out there with no comfy couches or fireplaces.
However, they are both prone to helping Daddy with his projects when I use the kitchen table as a workbench. And as any cat I can think of, they're just fascinated by small parts. Spooky, for some reason is a notorious 'caboose thief', and can hide an unfinished caboose kit faster than anything I've ever seen, LOL!

They help to make life VERY strange around my house. Terrific cats!

Tom,
Them's some *** Pretty Kittys!!!Not the escapee mini Panther from Chi-town, or the IA farm kats, although there have been some pretty cool ones on da farm. But with farm kats, once you start lik'n one........
My first cat Chessie loved to go down to the basement with me. Other than a couple times when he was a kitten, he never got on the layout. He used to just wander around on the floor some and then go up on the step to stretch out or curl up to watch me and the trains.
When I brought Casey Jones home, I stopped taking them down to the basement with me since Casey was more likely to get into things. With both of them down there, I was unable to get much work done. However, I did occasionally let them both into my home office where my Lionel is, and they loved to watch it run around the room.
After Chessie passed away, I brought home Smokey. He and Casey quickly became best friends. However, he's my little daredevil, and since I'm now doing oil painting in the basement, they don't get allowed down there at all. I haven't allowed him into my office yet when I have the Lionel running, and with my Christmas tree up, they won't be going in there until January.

I love Golden Retrievers--here in Sacramento they're very popular as Service Dogs, and I've never seen a sweeter, smarter and more even-tempered dog in my life. If I had the space, I'd have a couple, myself. And this is spoken as a Cat Person, LOL!
Tom.
We have sent many puppies down to the San Rafael Guide Dogs for the Blind that have been put in to service. Also many search and rescue dogs all over the world. And lots of drug sniffer dogs. They are smart and we hear all the stories.

I already have the NCE PH-Pro wireless DCC system.
Now, I am going to run out and buy two golden retriever puppies.

Kudos! But does that mean that I have to convert to DCC before I can get my own Golden Retriever puppy, LOL?

No, you can still buy a golden retriever puppy, but it is important to note that these dogs have been bred only to operate NCE DCC PH-Pro systems.
I'm really enjoying this thread and thought I'd show another picture of our rescue dog: Jackson. This will be his first Christmas with us and boy is he excited, he can almost talk and I just know he asked me to get him a brass locomotive for Christmas. My wife isn't so sure, but that's what it sounded like to me. BTW: once again this photo was designed by the wife of a good friend who is also a member of this forum---thanks guys.
