Hello,
I'm attempting to place an Intermountain HO scale FP7 body on an FP7 Atlas/Roco chassis. Has anyone ever tried this? Are there any cut or adds I need to make in either the shell or the chassis?
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks,
Larry
Any particular reason why (had the frame around, etc)? If I remember right, the front coupler (maybe both) on the Atlas was body-mounted, so coupler mounts might be an issue.
The Atlas drive was great when it came out, but the newer ones are better, and the modern truck sideframes look much better.

I agree, there would have to be a very compelling reason for me to do this. I have both and would not consider this type of kit-bash unless I only had the IM shell but no chassis.
The Atlas unit is very smooth, but does not have much weight, so does not pull well. And the coupler mounting will be challenging to say the least!
My friend Larry accidently posted this under my username as I was using his computer this past weekend and checked the forums. He has a compelling reason, several FP7 frames and a beautiful IM FP7 shell. He has already test fitted the shell and it slips on, but "bottoms out", that is, rides too low on the frame and he was looking for anyone that might have done this conversion already to seek ideas. He's quite accomplished as a kitbasher and custom painter and I'm sure he'll figure something out.

Thanks
Thanks for the replys everyone.
After mulling this over more I think I might just can the whole idea and sell the Atlas FP7's outright.
