Whats so big about Brass and why do they cost more money then diecast?

<P mce_keep="true">Sorry, this doesn't really address your question.</P> <P mce_keep="true">But without diecast choo choos there would be no model train industry. Only the volume of sales and interest in the hobby generated by the prices of diecast models creates enough purchasing power to maintain all the ancillary industry from the local hobby shops to the layout and scenery makers.</P> <P mce_keep="true">If brass were the only option, there would be no track to run it on, no trees to put along the track and no stations to pull into.</P> <P mce_keep="true">You say, "Yah but I could do all that stuff in DIY fashion." That's not a nation-wide pastime. That's a few dozen wealthy individuals with too much time on their hands.</P>
