I'd like to see an article done on the South Pacific Coast, a now defunct branch of the Espee that ran from Oakland along the east side of San Francisco Bay thru San Jose and Los Gatos where it climbed over and thru the Santa Cruz Mtns to Santa Cruz on the Pacific. It connected w/ the SP in Oakland, San Jose and in Santa Cruz on three separate lines making for incredible operation potential. It ran weekend excursions, usually doubleheaded steam, thruout the '40s, and traversed many trestles, went thru several long tunnels, skirted along steep riverbanks, and had very tight curvature. It ran from the Oakland "Mole" warterfront terminal on SF Bay to the amusement park area of Santa Cruz. right along the ocean. Redwood logging dominated the action in the late 1800s when it was 3 foot ng and onto the early part of the 20th century. Motive power was all light - 2-8-0s and later 4 axle Geeps. Remnants of it remain today and the southwestern end connects w/ the 3 foot Felton & Big Trees RR which has run Shays and other unique stuff. (haven't been there lately) Bruce MacGregor has written a couple of fine books on this route. Don't know why I've never seen any HO railroads done of this branch, since it's setting is in God's country - some of the most beautifully scenic terrain in California. I know of at least one large scale ng layout and another HOn3 or On3 set in the late nineteenth century, but that's it.

I know that was a rhetorical statement - but I'll play along just for grins. [8D]

A lurker on this and the Atlas forum finally jumping in on something.

A series of articles on the anthracite region roads with a different road featured each month. That could fill up alot of issues [:D]

How about something that looks American, but not quite, has big GE Diesels, hauls the biggest trains in the world.

Or perhaps in another area perhaps on the worlds newest transcontinental rail line.

Hmmmm where would you find that and some great beer as well?????

Mopac and other roads in the Louisiana and Texas region. Never hear much about those railroads (KCS, Southern, Katy, etc.) and I *know* there are some good layouts featuring them :)

Would like to see the HO scale layout featuring a medium sized "typical American" town from Ron Kuykendall. Was featured some years back, I wonder if he's updated it.

Hunter - When we met in January of 2000, you were just a 6 week old pup who walked his way into this heart of mine as the only runt in the litter who would come over to me. And today, I sit here and tell you I am sorry we had to put you down. It was the best thing for you and also the right thing to do. May you now rest in peace and comfort. Love, Dad. 8 June 2010

I love you and miss you Mom. Say hi to everyone up there for me. Rest in peace and comfort. Love, John. 29 March 2017

Well I have to second the request for Jack Parker's HO Northern Pacific. I'd like to see a good article - LOTS of BIG pictures of the Columbia Gorge Model Railroad Club's layout. It is awesome and deserves some special attention.

As far as articles about real (now or past) railroads I think that an article or series of articles about the UP or SP branch lines in various states. And how about an article about modeling logging operations.

I'd like to see some more articles with track plan ideas for small bedrooms. There is always room for some more ideas.
