I was able to get out of the garage and do a little railfanning on the MRL. I set up on a bluff overlooking the Bozeman Tunnel along the interstate but I was only able to catch a BNSF Grain Train and the MRL 840 Local heading to Livingston with its GP35 team pulling the way.

You are correct, 1 frisco and 1 of each GN big sky, SP&S, NP Freight, and CB&Q, but yall will have to wait until next week to see the rest even though they are all ready for decals now

I'm finding all these photos very inspriational. Some great stuff - just goes to show me what's possible.
And as for my contribution, I finally managed to finish off that RS-2 I was lettering - Walthers Proto N, Digitrax drop-in DCC. Runs like a dream.
The track it's sitting on, the one next to it and another open-air track across from it are also new additions to the roundhouse - I figure I'll paint my custom-painted/lettered models on these ones.

Zak, those Bozeman Tunnel shots are incredible!
Well, got curious yesterday, and hooked up my new Moffat 2-8-2 to my older PFM Moffat 2-6-6-0 to see if they like each other. They do (YAY! ) So here's a couple of shots of my two Moffat 'transplants' hauling a train through Wagon Wheel Gap.
It was about 12 cars, but they did a nice job with each other.

Thanks guys for the nice words! I've been so busy with my long hours at work, night school and the joys of having two children that model railroading has been placed on the far back burner. This scene so needs to be finished. I got the dirt road in and the crossing gates but now the grass, trees and bushes need to start growing. Some day soon.........

Here are two photos of activity at the coke oven and one photo of activity at the blast furnace. The second hand Baldwin switchers are always busy and are never washed. You can barely see the original paint schemes (GN and SP) through the grime.

The Port Destiny Terminal RR got a new Tie Car , this former C&O pulp wood car . This car is based on an L&N prototype , but I could not find a photo of the car so I opted to make one based on information I had on the Prototype car , and since the PDT is jointly owned by L&N and the Southern Rwy it seemed appropriate .
Some really great work here today. Too many contributors to comment on them all. Keep up the good work everyone!

That's flat-out TERRIFIC! Really looking forward to photos after you get the rest of the scenery in.
BTW, that Grandt Line model of the ore-crusher building is based on the Kentucky Mine up in the Sierra about 70 miles from me in Sierra City, CA. It's still there and has been restored and is the centerpiece of the Sierra County Historical Museum. My great grandfather Edward Perryman worked at the mine in the 1880's when he came over from Cornwall. I've got the same model on my layout in 'Sierra City'. Neat building.

Ken, your scenery is looking great! One thing that bugged me on my layout was the edge of the pink foam showing which distracts from the finished scenery. As adding a facia board to the sides of the layout will be one of the last things I'll do (if I ever get that far), a tempory fix was to paint the foam edge and wood framework, (I used Walmart craft paint). I mixed the craft paint to match basic scenery color, but one could use other colors as well. It took about an hour to do,and the result was very pleasing and immediately gave the layout a finished look and the pink (or blue) foam was gone. Jay.

Jay, thank you for the kind words. I have came a long way and still learning. On part of the new section I have painted the edge of the foam and it does help. Just not have gotten around to that side yet.
