well, I've started a switching layout on a high shelf. However, it's higher up than the tri-pod I use, so good lord knows high I'm going to get pics.

Building a protolanced industrial park layout
My boxcar came, I guess on Saturday while I was away (snowboarding). I ran it for a while after school today, and I LOVE it! Great detail, runs well, amazing. When I saw one of these cars recently, it was spotless, so I'll weather it lightly when I finally get an airbrush.
We get out at 12:05 tomorrow (parent conferences) and Wednesday (Ash Wednesday). Plenty of time to do homework (term paper for Theology is done, it was due today [hard copy and to TurnItIn {website that checks for plagarism, doesn't exactly work and is really annoying}]). And, of course, run some trains.
There is a train show coming up in two weeks, and I hope to go (FINALLY!!!). My mom said something about we may go down the shore that weekend anyway. THe show is in Edison, so we would go on the way home. I'm also thinking about stopping at Metropark to grab a couple pics since we'll already be in the area

Ah, you lucky man. There is never a trains how around me, the show I went to last year up in Greenville didn't happen again I guess, and there's nothing around here that I can reasonablly get my parents to take me to.
That's why I love living in New England... I go to 3 or 4 shows a year... Including this one. It has three more buildings too!
This photo is a composite of 7 different photos, stiched together with Adobe Photoshop 6.0. I took them from up in the Vermont Railways trailer, which you can see at the very left.
Forgot to mention that we lost our game on Sunday 6-2. THe first playoff game is on Saturday We (4th place team) are playing the same team again (1st place). IF we win, we play for the championship on Saturday. If we lose, our season is over. We are 6-4-2, not bad considering that we're only a second year JV team. I really hope we go varsity next year.
Since we got out early today (parent conferences), I'm gunna run some trains and stuff. Same thing tomorrow (Ash Wednesday).
Our new new gym teacher started yesterday. Third one this year. He's good, but no one was as good as our first one.
I was probably about four the last time I was at a train show. The most vivid memory of it was getting sick and puking...
Oh wait, once there was one at Dover HS, pretty bad, never went back.
BapouPackers#1, 0-5-0 is a term everyone knows... My question is, what are you doing with a White Sox poster when we all know Red Sox rule!
GO METS!!!!!
ok, here's pictures of my new switching layout (sorry for the bad quality;camera was dying, and didn't have a tripod that reaches that high):
in this photo, you can see why I can't use a tripod
Very blurry, but you can make out the track arrangment:
Packers#1GO METS!!!!!
YANKEES!!!! WOOOO! Football- Giants, Hockey- DEVILS!!!!, Lacrosse (MLL)- Barrage, Lacrosse (NLL)- Titans
Duhh, get it right!
And Sawyer, you might want to clean your room...

Hey, I got respect for both the Yankees and the Red Sox, they're good teams. But I love the Mets; they've almost always sucked, but they've had a good team the past few years, just choked. And yes, I live in atlanta braves territory. Actually went to a Braves-Mets game at Turner field w/ a Mets shirt and hat on, and the Mets won 7-1.
As to football, Giants are ok. now that Favre is retired, my sole yteam in the NFL are the PACKERS
As to hockey, right on man. Go New Jersey devils I also like the Boston Bruins.
Lacrosse I don't pay attention to, lol. Looks like a good sport to watch if you know what's going on.
Heck, if I clean my room, it'll look even worse after two weeks.
Wow, i hate jumping in to one of these things, but, almost done with scenery on a section of my layout. Had to backorder a small church that would be perfect for the scene. Oh ya, went to a train show on Saturday. Small, local, lot of vendors. Had one N scale layout where just about everything was animated. It was just downright awsome. Oh ya, i almost forgot,
Go Astros.
You northeasterns have all the trainshows. I usually only get 1-2 a year, with less than 8 vendors at each. The next one within 200 miles of here is in Pensacola in the middle of june. I went last year and got a rather large haul. (DRGW GP40, DRGW FT ABBA, 13 DGRW passenger cars, 11 BN coal hoppers, 1 BN caboose; I sold off all of the DRGW stuff). Hopefully the guy who sold me the 11 hoppers (11 MDCs for 25 bucks) still has some of those Athearn RTR SD40-2s in BN.
I think there is one in Atlanta that'll be fairly large that my MR club will go to, if that's true I'll try to bum a ride with someone.
BTW, I really don't care much for baseball.
Vincent
Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....
2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.
Ok, I don't know how many of you got the Athearn news letter, but Athearn is now making a WC F45, and an ATSF FP45 in the superfleet scheme! Looks like I'll be pre-ordering both. Hopefully by the time they come out I'll have made some more money!

oh lord. I was debating whether to order an N scale one if i ever had the money, but I'll stick to wanting those SD9s, and now also a second rs-1, lol. The southern SD35 is sold out at modeltrainstuff.com, and the next place i found it has it for $76, so no way, Jose.
Jordan, I signed up for it but never got that newsletter. I found out about those when I kept checking on those F45s a while back.
Well I finished one of the boxcars I am doing, but the other one ran into a snag.
Here's the finished one, a P2K 50 double door automobile box that I spent about an hour putting together (not including paint drying time, but including weathering) without the instructions since I got it as a freebie without instructions. Here's the athearn BB one that I hit a snag with:I went to the store and picked up a rattle can of paint that cap matched it. When I sprayed it it turned out reddish. So plan B, cover the lettering with masking tape and do the whole thing so it looks like a late PRR patch job. Pics on that when it finishes.
I managed to trade a pair of AAR sideframes I have for flexi-coils, so I should be able to get my SW1500s back together short order especially now that I'm starting to make my own grab irons. My SD24s should be here anyday since the e-payment cleared Monday morning. definetly will get pics of that. I'm thinking of temporarily MUing them to my SD9s until I get a sound eqquiped SD24. I'm having a friend who has several of the ATSF and a few of the UP ones look at mine to see if sound units from one of those will fit under mine.
Vincent; looks great! Good luck w/ that second one.
When my homework is done, Ima get some pics of recent progress (some scenery, completed bakery, boxcar, graffiti on other cars, etc.).
Also with the boxcar came the b/o Tenax welder. Dang, that stuff works. Now I don't need a replacement plow for my F40 (speaking of which, I really need styrene; haven't touched that thing in a while (READ: no time or supplies).
Page 4? Horrors!
I've been busy recently ripping up track, buildings, and scenery... This is Dooley now, where the railroad's old "Signature Scene" was located.
The "new" Dooley will have street running, a paper mill replacing the Kitty Chow plant, and possibly a team track.
And this is Ogden Siding. It will get cork roadbed and a basically identical track arrangement.
Looks good Tyler.
Well, due to the fact I'll be getting most of the bonus room instead of the attic (financial reasons), and the fact that the bonus room room has different characteristics, now planning on doing an industrial park in modern day. reasons:1) bonus room has lower ceilings, therefore no bunk bed above layout.2) there is the perfect stretch of wall to mount an industrial park on.
Looks like SCRail is back. Will have to re-write it's history a little, but otherwise, it's all good.
I'll just change the W in my new scheme to a C
Nice work Tyler! Can't wait to see more progress. One thing, file down the edges of the cork where you split it to get the tapered edges. It cleans off all the cork "fringies" and makes ballasting easier.
Well this is a random post. But I'm pretty sure not many schools use to "Flex Mod Schedule" system, so I guess I'll show you guys.
Blank one.
Mine.
Any questions, just ask.
My SD24s arrived, along with a bonus.
The CB&Q unit will be weathered and patched someday.... (like after I finish my other projects)
The bonus is a walthers airslide hopper, with kadees and metal wheels. Only one problem, it shows a build date of 06-93. I model up until 1985, but IIRC, the Great Northern had some, so my excuse as of now is the guy at the factory had the stencil upside down. It was supposed to be 06-63.
I hit a snag with the other box car, again. This time I seemed to have lost one of the clips for the top of the door. Other than that it looks okay. In time I'll probably find it, or rig up something for it. In other news, I bought a pair of Atlas U33Cs for a total of 70 bucks. Now I need to get a sound decoder for whatever GE uses in the U33C or U30C. (in addition to one for a C424 and an SD24)
Tyler: Progress looks good; can't wait to see more.
Sawyer: Sounds like a good plan. How many times are you going to change it???

???? I'm really confused...
Here's my schedule: Periods run 8:00-8:07(Homeroom), 8:10-8:50, 8:53-9:33, 9:36-10:16, 10:19-10:59, 11:02-11:42, 11:45-12:25, 12:28-1:08, 1:11-1:51, 1:54-2:34. Monday Lab Schedule: Double 1,2,3,5,56,6,Double 7. Tuesday Lab Schedule: Double 2,3,4,5,56,Double 8. Wednesday Non-Lab Schedule: 1,2,3,4,5,56,6,7,8. Thursday Lab Schedule: Double 3,4,1,Double 5,56,8,7. Friday Lab Schedule: Double 4,1,2,56,Double 6,7,8. It's really confusing. Period 1- Spanish 1, Period 2- Biology Honors, Period 3- Gym/Writing/Gym/Health, Period 4- Theology, Period 5- Geometry Honors, Period 56- Lunch (B Mon-Wed, C Thurs, A Friday), Period 6- World History, Period 7- Band, Period 8- English I Honors. (Yes, 56 really does exist, it's not a mistake.) Homeroom is 7 minutes (including prayer and announcements), regular periods are 40 minutes, and Lab periods (doubles) are 83 minutes, and there are 3 minutes between classes. Yes, It's extremely confusing, but you get used to it after a few weeks. But it gets even wierder on Liturgy Days...
We won in the Semifinals today!!! We (#4 team) beat the #1 team 2-1. We play in the Finals tomorrow. So far, it's been a great season, and I hope we finish it even better.
Such weird schedules!I'll post mine, pretty simple compared to yours if you ask me.
Nice buys there Packer!
I have been working on the Banker's Boxes, and going through and inspecting all my rolling stock, since this week is March Break, I have lots of time. I'll get some pictures sooner than later...
Alex
It seems to be that time of the month again. It's time to start over.
Here's the new place.

umm, well, not likely. this room is better suited to the industrial park. now, if I get the attic, I'll go back to the mountain RR plan.
congrats on getting to the finals
