I beleive the original MSRP was closer to $700. Since Trix dropped the price on them and the 2-8-2 Mikes, I've seem them advertised for $450-$500. IMHO, $450 (including tax and S&H) is a good price. I'd still shop around at online discount places, just to see if you can't beat that.

I have the Trix 2-8-2 Mike and like it a lot. It came with the older Loksound v.2.0 decoder in it. (They're up to v.3.5 now.) Here's a run down on the Trix Mike:
Wow! $15 for a car....for Trix rolling stock? If so, that's a terrific deal! The NYC caboose alone goes for close to $40.
