question about DC Blueline sound & Quantum annlog remote control
Posted by relucas on Saturday, July 28, 2007 7:06 PM
I was told by the hobby shop that the atlas quantum engineer add-on control system will operate the horn, bell and the other functions on the new blueline with dc sound. Engine does what it said out of the box , hooked the quantum engineer as per instructions pushed the horn button and the engine reverses release button and goes forward. checked all wires nothing wrong. started over same thing no horn no bell nothing. If anyone out there is using this sucessfully I would sure be greatful for some help.  thanks , Ray......

Quantum is for QSI Equipted engines. Decoders that are made and programmed by QSI will work and respond to Quantum Controller.

Blueline is BLI's effort to divorce themselves from QSI and Royalties and provide more engines at lower prices for the Analog DC Crowd.

As mentioned above, the Atlas (and P2K and BLI) controllers are for QSI®.  Per the BLI/PCM website   http://precisioncraftmodels.com/BlueLine-c3479.html

You need the "DC Sound Effects operated with DCMaster Analog Control Module." AKA the PCM DC control module.

These two are very different controllers.

On the above webpage, scroll down to the 3rd FAQ for more information.
