We had a cjain of stores here in the UK called Maplins that sold lots of electronics ex-stock but, lie a lot of high street stores, they are now gone. Amazon stocks nearly everything I need from wire to Arduinos and delivers next day (even now) so I don't feel that I am missing too much.
