I just acquired a BLI PRR S2 for Christmas. It's a Paragon 3 model but JMRI has no decoder listing for Paragon 3. I know there's some way to add the decoder definition to JMRI Decoder Pro but forgot how.
Help please
Hi, Arto
I remember this came up a while back and the cure was to "Recreate Decoder Index" in JMRI.

Version 4.2 notes had this to say:
I found this on the "known problems with this release" page at JMRI:
Some BLI decoder definitions (PR2, PR3 and similar) may not be available until you select the "Rebuild Decoder Index" item from the menu. It's on the Debug menu in PanelPro, and the Actions menu in DecoderPro.
Of course, there have been, I think, three revisions of JMRI releases since then. What version are you using? The most recent "production release" 4.6 was just on December 17th, 2016. I would imagine they have repaired the bug in the recent releases.
I have not had any issues with the last two BLI P-3 decoders that I programmed in JMRI.
Good Luck, Ed
Yes, thanks Ed. Had some trouble finding that post.
For some reason unbeknownst to me, the JMRI version on the PC used on the layout had an older version. There was no "Action" menu to select "Recreate Decoder Index". My other PCs that have nothing to do with the layout have the current version. I updated & the Action menu appeared and the Paragon 3 decoder selections were available. I was able to change the address and it runs fine. Now I'll have to change the sound settings - this thing is LOUD
