I have a friend with Broadway Limited steamers and PA that has had many quality issues, and with the PAs of which I also have an N scale A&B unit. The PA units stall on turnouts will go through when the sound is turned off. We have many close feeds for the DCC off the bus lines, so we know the track power for the DCC is not dropping. We have other Bachman units and they run fine. Our thoughts are that the capacitor in the Broadway units is not large enough since the sound system draws so much, there is not enough power left to go over the dead spots on the turnouts. Have you heard about any of the same issues? Do you have ability to test the units on an N scale layout and see if you see the same issues. My friend and I can run the PA units through the turnout a high speed with the sound on but not at a crawl or proto speed with sound on. With the sound off, no problem.
Anyone have similar issues?
