Pulsating LED headlight
Posted by basementdweller on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 8:18 PM

I hard wired a new TCS T1 decoder in an Athearn loco. Blue wir. Common and yellow for rear light and white for front light. When running forward  the headlight is pulsating, running backwards the rear light works ok. Reset the decoder and no change

Swapped out LED - no change.

Swapped out the decoder for another T1 and all is working normal.

Any suggestions as to what is going on, I see that the T1 has adjustable brightness but I don't know how to make that CV adjustment.

Should I return the decoder to TCS ? I noticed when I put it on programming track it read address 002 instead of the normal 003.

Appreciate any comments.

Martin.

Try doing a factory reset first and see if that cures the problem. Don't forget to cycle the power off and on after the reset.
