Program CV116 for Tsunami KT1000 Diesel shutdown
Posted by HejhogMarty on Monday, March 16, 2015 3:50 PM
Hi All, I have a Kato GP35, I installed a Tsunami KT1000, but having trouble figuring out what to use in CV 116 to make the Diesel go into shutdown mode. Can anyone assist me with this? Soundtraxx basically said the CV to do this was 116. I use a DCS 51 Zephur plus using the PTB-100 programmer. I also use the JMRI Decoder Pro3 PC interface. Regards Marty

Marty,

Valid values for CV116 are between zero and 255.  The lower the value, the sooner the loco will auto mute.  I like to use 255.  That lets a loco idle a bit, but shuts it off before it becomes too annoying.

Also note that the sound will only mute if all the functions are turned off.  So, for example, if you pull the loco into the engine shop and do not turn off the headlight, it will not mute.

You really appreciate the auto mute function when you have a dozen or so sound locos sitting at an engine facility.

Quiet Mode Timeout Period...CV 113

CV113=0...diesel sounds "on" upon track power and stays "on" unless muted (F8).

CV113=value X 0.25 equals number of seconds to automatic shut down.

ex:CV113=120...30 seconds to shut down after throttle backed to 0 and all other functions (other sounds and lights,etc) are turned "off".

CV116...Engine Exhaust Control

CV116=0...manual notching

CV116=1-15 (default 7)...automatic notching.
