I have a wye in my layout and I will be installing a reversing module to control power and avoid short circuits. Is there an ideal location for the gaps? One side (leg?) of the wye is the main, and the other two legs lead to the wye turnout, with the tail a dead end ( not connected to any track. The purpose of the wye is to turn locomotives. ) I was thinking of gapping both rails of the the two legs leading to the turnout , by installing insulated (plastic) rail joiners. The reversing module is by MRC, turnout is Walthers, rail is Atlas code 83, DCC system is MRC.
Thanks for any thoughts,
Mr. Mick
Are you connecting the reverser to the tail track or between the turnouts? Your post was not clear to me.
I think Iunderstand -. SO, am I going to be hooking up the module powering one side from the main, the other on the tail, with gaps at the two legs of the wye turnout. (That's four gaps on the "main" side of the wye turnout frog, no gaps on the two rails of the "tail") . Yes?
