I have seen DCC Ready Tenders advertised a couple of places. Has anyone used these?
If so, for what locos and how did it work out? What's the deal?
Thanks, Joel
I have seen the auxiliary tender for the N&W J loco that said DCC ready. It said it had a reverse light so I imagine it comes with electrical pickups and a lighting board that will accept a function only decoder. Possibly also drilled for a speaker mounting also.

I pray every day I break even, Cause I can really use the money!
I started with nothing and still have most of it left!
Bachmann HO DCC ready tenders are not consistent in the wiring. This has been discussed a lot in the Bachmann forums. Some rip out the wiring and put it in the tender they want to use.
The tenders cones with a pair of short adapters if the the loco does not match. The jumpers reverse each function which shorts out the track controller. Happened to me. I had to rewire and add a 1k resistor for the LED headlight. Matching the USRA DCC ready tender to the low driver 4-6-0.
Also, many Bachmann locos have dim headlights. The average resistance on the PC board is about 2.6 k. About 1k is normal for LED's.
Some of the older run of DCC locos have 12 volt light bulbs.

If you ever fall over in public, pick yourself up and say “sorry it’s been a while since I inhabited a body.” And just walk away.
