I'm just getting started on my first layout, 11'x11' with one main track around the outside, a small yard, and a turntable. If I were to run a loco in one direction, bring it into the turntable and turn it around, can I now bring it back out and run around in the opposite direction, or does this require some different wiring.

If DC: the "Forward" and "Reverse" positions on your throttle will drive the loco in opposite direction of what they did before turning around.
If DCC: there is no impact of changing the direction on turn table.

I'm building a DCC layout.
What turntable are you using? Some will reverse the polatiry for you, oterws will need a reverser unit or an extra switch to reverse polarity when you turn a loco end for end.

Haven't got the turntable yet. Have a walthers 130' on back order.
That one will require no special wiring. Just hook it up per the instructions, and you will be fine.
In DCC, forward means towards the front of the engine, so when you spin it on the turntable, you don;t touch the direction button, forward will still move tot he front of the engine, just that the actual direction on the layout will be back the way it came.
If you look closely on your diesels, Forward is indicated by a capital F near the base of the shell. On the prototype, the forward position of some diesels is hard to identify by sight alone.
If you are installing your own decoders, be sure to wire them in the forward position. I have actually purchased some DCC equipped diesels in which the wiring was reversed so that running them in forward from your throttle ran them backwards.
You can also reverse the direction of your DCC locos by changing the value of CV29.

The OP indicated that he has ordered a Walthers 130' turntable, so he will not need an auto-reverser.
