 OOPPS. Black Eye

Installing a Loksound select 4 aux decoder in a brass steamer I was going to hard wire and solder a washer on the tender pin so the loco would be semi permanently connected. After mounting the speaker and decoder in the tender I strung the wires to the loco and that is when I found the oops. The wires for the motor are too short by a half inch. So much for careful planning. Instead of extending an heat shrinking wires I will be putting a 6 pin JST connector in the front of the tender and wire a JST plug to the loco. So much for not having troublesome connections between loco and tender.Angry

I suppose a permanent conenction is ok, if it's a smaller loco. But if you ever have to do any work on it, you will soon appreciate the ability to completely disconnect the tender from the loco.

Randy.

It is a smaller 2-6-0 with a small tender. Easily picked up with one hand.
