Wiring a Tortoise switch with AC Power and SPDT switch
Posted by DBRATT on Sunday, September 25, 2011 8:42 PM

I am a relatively new member of the model railroading community and have made the decision to switch from under table atlas switches to the tortoise machines.  I have a MRC AC transformer and would like to figure out how to wire these with SPDT switches.  I have a total of five tortoise machines to wire (please do not laugh!).  Since I am easily confused, a diagram if possible would also be helpful.  My main lines are DCC powered and I am aware that I could control these with decoders but would like to wire the machines via wire.  Thank you for any assistance.

This will have what you need. Instructions and diagrams. You're interested in option 3 "AC wiring with steering diodes".
