macros on Lenz Dcc system
Posted by leslie on Thursday, June 30, 2011 2:02 AM

Nothing in my manuals about macros on Lenz dcc.

Should be possible as it is NMRA Certified

Where do i find out or do i have to use an accessory decoder like Digitrax DS64 and set routes?

That's because it won't do macros.

NMRA certification actually has nothing to do with macros.  Most DCC systems do things the way the NMRA standards and RP's say to do it. They just don't bother to submit their products and wait for the NMRA to certify them before starting to sell them.

Macros are a manufacturer added extra feature. NMRA has no control over the extra features. They specify how a packet for a single switch command is sent. Programming those commands into multiple batches is beyond the scope of the NMRA rp's.

Using DS64's to set routes is one way. They could also be implemented through JMRI.

Roco, Lenz and Altas use the same control bus signal for their systems, so products from those three manufacturers should be interchangable.  I think Roco released a macro computer a few years ago.
