I have been looking for miniature ring terminals for some interior lighting projects (HO scale).
A ring terminal looks like this:
JayBee trains used to make very nice interior lighting kits. These kits (at least for Athearn cars) came with contact wipers, wire, a light board, etc...
The nicest thing about them is they came with mini ring terminals that fit over a 2-56 machine screw. This way the screw transmitted the power from the contact wipers and the ring terminal (with a wire soldered to it) then connected to the light board. A nut secured the ring terminal to the screw. Simple and neat. And also easy to unscrew if you had to work on the trucks.
SInce JayBee has long stopped making these light kits, I've been trying to find a supply of miniature ring terminals.
Does anyone know of a supplier that has ring terminals that fit 2-56 screws? I'm not sure what "stud size" a 2-56 screw is. This could be why my internet searches have been a bust.

A 2-56 is a #2. The problem is if you search for #2 ring terminals you get ones for #2 gauge WIRE which are PROBABLY a litlle too big
Check RC suppliers, those tiny things are not easy to find, I didn;t see any at Thoams and Betts and they have like every kind of connector immaginable.

MOUSER Electronics ( mouser.com ) sells #2 terminals in ring and spade type. AMP is one manufacture.
put this numer in at ebay 400194228785 check out this at ebay there are many types for you to choose and since thsy are for jewerly they will be small

Those would be right. A 2-56 screw is a #2 stud, a 1-72 screw is a #1, and a 0-90 screw is a #0.

Screw sizes are measured in stud size and threads per inch, thus a 2-56 screw is for a #2 stud and has 56 threads per inch; ergo, a #2 ring terminal will fit onto a 2-56 screw.
