Has anyone bought a new TSU 1000? I have heard the older units may have had a problem. Also are they a circuit board or they the little circuits in a shrink wrap? I would want to put it in a SD7, which has very little room.

David HiI'm talking about a sound and motor decoder for SD7. Some decoders are on a circuit board like the light board that comes in the modern locos, and some are very small and covered in shrink wrap.I installed a motor only decoder ( which is the small kind D13SRJ) in an SD7 and I'm now thinking of exchanging it for sound and motor control. The small size will be the only thing I can stuff in the SD7. This is my first dealings with decoders.
Help greatly appreciated.
